Setagaya: Komazawa Daigaku (駒沢大学)

Komazawa daigaku is accessible in about 10 minutes from Shibuya (渋谷) by using the Denentoshi line (田園都市線) heading towards Chuorinkan (中央林間)

Make sure you take the local train, because the express train won't make a stop at this station.

The map above shows the walking route from the station, which takes about 15 minutes on foot.
You can use just about any exit out of the station, and the station has a map inside to help you out in case you get lost.

Komazawa is known for previously hosting the summer Olympics in Tokyo back in the 1960s, and is still a great place for running and playing sports.

They also have a skate park that has been remodeled in the last couple years.
I haven't been able to get a chance to skate their yet but it seems moderately crowded any time I walk by on the weekends.

From what I can tell, the park closes around 5-6pm.

Inline: OK
Skateboards: OK
BMX: OK

I grabbed some photos from the internet until I can take some of my own:

Also found some videos on the internet of people at the park

Starting off with.. Setagaya!

Because I live near here, I decided to start a section devoted to around my home base.
In case you don't know, here is the location of Setagaya:

So far I have found a couple skate parks, and at least some places with random skate stuff like grind rails and grind boxes just sitting around.

From now on I'll basically split up posts by train station and show information about the area that has been found so far.

First Post

Hey everyone!

So I'm an American and I've been living in Tokyo for about 3 years now, but I just started again skating recently..

I noticed that if you search for any street spots in Tokyo on the internet you don't really get any good results.. so I thought I would try to compile a blog with images, google map links, and links from other pages I find of any skate spots in or around Tokyo that I visit or hear of.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to grab any pictures of the spots because I've been skating mostly at night, but I'll start posting locations soon!

Keep checking back.
